Holy crap it is FAST. unusually high amounts of torque...I drove it on a Pizza run for work and WOW. Even though it’s an auto, it hauls ass with the lightweight single cab.
(Photo from Dogspotting and I had similar emotions as that dog has right now)

Was it turbo'd or engine swapped or something?

It's slower than a 2.9 Colorado. You need to drive some faster vehicles.

I drive a 4wd 4.0 v6 with a 3.73 rear end. It gets off to a good start from the line but that’s it. All torque not much power.

I’ve owned a Mazda B-3000 (3.0 v6 Ranger) for 20 years. I decided to buy something faster when a Prius beat it from the stoplight to the on-ramp. Yes, you read that right. A Prius.

If you want fast... there’s an outfit in British Columbia that will sell you a sweet setup for 90's T-Bird Eaton blowers for the cologne V6, along with a couple of tried and true pulley’s that *shouldn’t blow the stock internals of the ranger. I had an opportunity to put one together with a buddy along with some upgraded internals. He uses it to pull his Thunderjet out of the water.

I don’t want to be the guy to tell my wife that I spent $38.000 on a Ford Ranger. But I’d be lying if I didn’t say that building one to run the Score 1000, is definitely on the bucket list.

I'd just buy a used one and build off that, because it's much more cheaper as parts are not cheap
